Introduction

Beryllium copper rod 2.1247/C17200/CDA 172/CuBe2 possesses a lower electrical conductivity compared to Class 3 copper. However, it compensates for this with its remarkable hardness and ultimate tensile strength. Therefore, it is highly recommended as an electrode material for specific welding situations involving high pressures and severe wear, but not excessive heating. Whether in the form of high strength castings or wrought material, it serves as an excellent choice for top-quality dies and electrodes. Additionally, it finds extensive usage as inserts and die facings, and can even be employed as bushings for seam welders. Class 4 copper can be obtained in an annealed state, facilitating easier manufacturing and allowing for subsequent heat treatment to achieve maximum hardness.
