One major drawback of titanium and its alloys is their low chemical reactivity with other substances at elevated temperatures. This characteristic necessitates the use of unique refining, melting, and casting techniques for titanium alloys, and it can also result in damage to the mold. As a result, titanium-based materials may have different processing requirements than other materials.
Due to the exorbitant prices of titanium alloy, its usage was predominantly limited to aircrafts, aircraft structures, and in the high-tech sectors including petroleum and chemical industries.
