Introduction

Alloy X750 bar is a popular choice for high temperature applications due to its impressive creep-rupture strength of approximately 700oC. This alloy is also precipitation hardenable, making use of the beneficial properties of added Al and Ti (reaching temperatures of 1290oF). However, it should be noted that Nimonic 90 is a stronger and sturdier option compared to Alloy X750 bar. Despite the latter's usage in elevated temperature environments, Nimonic 90 displays superior strength.
